Registered Midwife New Graduate Programme

The new graduate midwifery programmes at Capital and Coast, and Hutt Valley are tailored to provide a professionally and clinically comprehensive experience. You will work 8-hour shifts on a rostered and rotating basis, with a workload equivalent to 0.8 full-time employment over 54 weeks in your programme based either at Capital and Coast or Hutt Valley. This arrangement allows you to strike a balance between your clinical responsibilities, commitments to the Midwifery First Year of Practice (MFYP), and personal life. Once the programme is completed you will transfer onto the permanent midwife roster. Mo to matou ropu – About our team We have supportive teams who nurture our new graduates and each other. Our senior teams include the Director of Midwifery, Associate Directors of Midwifery and Midwife Managers. Our obstetric teams are respectful and collaborative. We all work alongside our LMC colleagues and endeavor to provide the best care for whanau. The ideal candidates should be keen to embrace new challenges, apply their skills and knowledge into the clinical setting, have a solid work ethic, and are respectful to whanau and colleagues.
