He Korero mo te turanga - About the Role
We are looking for Registered Health Professionals to join our dynamic, innovative, and friendly team with a focus on the delivery of high-quality care to the growing population in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
The Acute Care (crisis) team support clients and their whanau suffering with acute mental health crisis/distress, through means of acute assessment, brief follow up, connection with community services, initiation/discussion of treatment and make plans for a pathway forward once the crisis has past. The Acute Care team (crisis) is part of the wider Community Mental Health team here in Whakatane, the team has strong support from both the Community Mental Health sector teams and the Mental Health Inpatient unit. We have a commitment to working in partnership and collaboration with consumers, family/whanau, primary mental health services and the community.
We are looking for a team player, but also someone who is comfortable working autonomously. You will have sound acute assessment skills, be able to make decisions quickly with patients, staff, and have community safety at the forefront of all decisions made. You will be flexible with your thinking as well as with your ability to work shifts, which can sometimes change at short notice. We are looking for someone with an open mind, positive, passionate and with a will to learn and grow.
You will be a part of a diverse team of Health Professionals including Nurse Practitioners, Consultants, Registrars, Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. We provide a supportive environment, opportunities for career development and participation in service development.
The available role is for casual hours, working as and when required.
