The Bay of Plenty Addiction Service is looking for a Registered Nurse to join the Tauranga Community Adult Drug and Alcohol Team. The successful candidate will work alongside our existing substance withdrawal nurse to provide assessment and treatment of whaiora who require support with substance withdrawal. You will also hold a small case load of clients who require case management support for substance use. 
Ideally this permanent role will be split as 0.5 FTE Detox Nurse/0.5 FTE Case Management however we will consider candidates who are looking for a 0.8 or 0.9 FTE.
Based at Tauranga hospital, we are a regional service that is part of the Adult Community Mental Health Services covering the whole of the Bay of Plenty. We offer our services in a variety of settings, including at satellite services and in the client's home. The service operates Monday to Friday during office hours. 
Our Alcohol and Other Drug service is a multidisciplinary team of Registered Health Professionals, Psychology, Psychiatry, Administrative Support and Leadership staff. We have a learning and supportive culture within the team, which leads to opportunities for growth and empowerment for individual staff members and the service.
This position is open to Registered Nurses, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists and DAPAANZ-registered clinicians. Ideally you will have at least 3 years post-registration experience working in an addiction treatment service, but we will also consider applications from less experienced clinicians if you have the personal qualities we are looking for.
An ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team is essential for this role, as are excellent assessment, risk management and interpersonal/communication skills. As this is a community-based position you will need to hold a full driving licence.
