Registered Home Manager £43,000 - Tiptree
We are looking for a Registered Manager to come and join us in making a positive impact on the lives of Children and Young People overseeing our new EBD Ofsted Regulated Children's Home in Tiptree. We are a well established provider with a total of four regulated children's homes already open and succeeding, not only in terms of the outcomes we are generating for the young people in our care but also with Ofsted, gaining Good across all areas for all of the homes we operate.
This role allows you to take overall responsibility for all aspects of running the Children's Home, with autonomy and flexibility to suit.
Our ultimate aim to to ensure that we enable the young people we support to lead a valued and fulfilling lives, maximizing their potential physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and ensuring their wellbeing.
With highly effective communication skills, you will interact with a wide variety of Multidisciplinary Teams - internal and external to ensure the safe and efficient running of the service.
As the Registered Manager you will be responsible for the success of the home in respect of budgets, targets, key performance indicators, staffing, quality, delivery of service, development of new business and profitability, you will have a dedicated staff team in order to ensure that you are supported in all aspects of you're role.
Managing the home
Provide effective leadership and management of the home and team of staff, setting out a clear vision, bringing people along with you and creating a positive work culture
Empower practitioners to take the lead in delivering care to children and delegate tasks appropriately
Determine what support and resources are required by the home and request these when they are needed
Ensure consistent quality of care, including leading team meetings, reflective practice, preparation for inspections and debriefing following challenging situations
Ensure that the home keeps accurate records that are objective and strengths-based in relation to young people
Take responsibility for the drafting and regular updating of documents and ensure that actions arising from them are followed and are in line with the requirements of Ofsted and partner agencies or other professionals
Ensure that delivery is based on clear methods, processes and frameworks which reflect the company approach and evidence effective practice
Oversee the management of the building, grounds, equipment and resources to create a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for young people and staff in line with health and safety and other legal requirements
Manage visits to the home to ensure that they do not disrupt the family feel of the home Working with young people
Establish trusting, empowering relationships with young people and support the staff team to do the same
Lead on safeguarding young people from risks to their health, welfare and development, inside and outside the home, in line with local safeguarding procedures and multi-agency relationships
Ensure that young people are listened to, and children's rights and participation are integral to care planning, decision making and the day to day running of the home
Oversee each key stage in the stay of young people, from referral and admission to leaving the home, in line with care plans and principles of best practice
Ensure that young people's individual needs and preferences are understood and followed by the staff team in terms, for example, of culture, identity, diet and religious observance
Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of individual young people's care and placement plans
Ensure that young people are supported by the staff team and other professionals to achieve their educational potential
Qualifications required/Qualifications currently working towards:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or an equivalent qualification
Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People's Workforce, or equivalent
Hold or be willing to undertake the level 5 diploma in leadership and management
Experience of working in a Management Role within a children's residential care setting
Knowledge of Child Protection & Safeguarding
Proven ability to lead staff teams and line management experience, including supervisions
The successful candidate will be registered with Ofsted and must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a children's residential care setting within the past 5 years.
Experience of both regulation 44 visits and OFSTED visits
Ability to use own initiative and be willing to learn
Be child focused and have the willingness to embrace the therapeutic model and inspire both the young people and team members to follow this
