He Korero mo te turanga - About the Role
We are looking for Registered Health Professionals to join our dynamic, innovative, and friendly team with a focus on the delivery of high-quality care to the growing population in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
The Acute Care (crisis) team supports clients and their whanau suffering from acute mental health crisis/distress through means of acute assessment, brief follow-up, connection with community services, initiation/discussion of treatment, and making plans for a pathway forward once the crisis has passed. The Acute Care team (crisis) is part of the wider Community Mental Health team here in Whakatane, and the team has strong support from both the Community Mental Health sector teams and the Mental Health Inpatient unit. We have a commitment to working in partnership and collaboration with consumers, family/whanau, primary mental health services, and the community.
We are looking for a team player, but also someone who is comfortable working autonomously. You will have sound acute assessment skills, be able to make decisions quickly with patients and staff, and have community safety at the forefront of all decisions made.
You will be flexible with your thinking as well as with your ability to work shifts, which can sometimes change at short notice. We are looking for someone with an open mind, who is positive, passionate, and has a will to learn and grow.
