Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to the development and effective delivery of services to prevent and reduce the harms from Violence at Work by leading, informing, educating and supporting kaimahi who experience incidents of violence at work, while also ensuring that tangata whaiora, whanau and visitors who display escalated behaviours are safe and feel supported, respected and have their cultural needs met.
Violence at Work is a critical health and safety risk for Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora staff across the motu. This role is pivotal to ensuring that comprehensive systems for staff awareness, education, training, mitigation, de-escalation and safe practice are integrated into the daily work approaches across Health NZ to mitigate violence at work through the work of the Violence Reduction Specialists connecting and engaging across the clinical, health and safety, and healthcare security disciplines.
With extensive experience in facilitating and developing adult education programs, particularly in health, safety, and crime prevention, you will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role. Holding a degree or equivalent experience in these fields, you excel at creating engaging learning experiences that empower individuals to apply their skills in real-world settings.
Minimum Requirements: 5 years clinical experience; or5 years' experience in a safety services role, crime prevention or CPI Safety Intervention TrainerExperience in facilitating and developing adult educationExperienced and competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite of productsA commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this roleCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthNau mai, uru mai | Come and join us When you join us, you become part of transforming the health system.
