The Role:
This role is an integral part of the Participation and Wellbeing team and will be primarily responsible for delivering programmes and services that protect and promote the wellbeing of players, with a focus on reaching participants across the greater Wellington region. The role will also support local basketball associations to build their understanding and capability to deliver national programmes and will contribute to the development of relevant national performance and prevention programme content and resources. The role will report to the Participation and Wellbeing Lead and sit within the wider BBNZ Community Team.
Developing and maintaining strong, positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including, but not limited to, secondary-school basketball players, local basketball coaches, Association staff, and fellow BBNZ colleagues will be critical to the success of this role. The role will seek to encourage regional collaboration with the goal of embedding sustainable systems, structures, and change while also ensuring that key contracted deliverables from investment partners are met in a timely manner. The role will support the integration of relevant performance and prevention programme content into BBNZ coach and people development systems and will be responsible for leading the monitoring and evaluation of national programmes in the Capital and Central region(s).
We are looking for someone with a passion for protecting and promoting participant wellbeing in sport, who is comfortable facilitating and delivering formal and informal learning experiences; and who has strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with organisation leaders, staff, and volunteers at all levels.
This role will be based in Wellington and will require flexibility to travel to regional and national events and work extended hours at times, including weekends/evenings.
