You will be a proactive, innovative, creative, and solutions-focused person with a passion for delivering better conservation outcomes for New Zealand.The position will be focused on:Developing processes for capturing and prioritising improvement ideasDesigning and maintaining monitoring systems for regional assuranceLeading the implementation of a programme of continuous improvement projects across the regionOverseeing and coordinating projects undertaken by the Regional Leadership Team, including monitoring milestones and ensuring timelines are metDesigning integrated strategies and solutions alongside key partners and stakeholdersLeading the development of integrated regional five-year outcome plans.The role will require travel across the region to provide support and engage with our wider staff cohort – Gisborne, Rotorua and Tauranga. At times, the role may also be required to travel to Wellington to engage on national strategy work.This role demands a strategic and analytical mindset, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of conservation management and operational excellence.Candidates should possess:Ideally sound knowledge of conservation management and national strategiesProficiency in business planning, financial management, and asset management principlesExpertise in performance improvement, including knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Scrum and business process improvement delivery and implementation experienceExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and integrate information effectivelyExperience in local government, council, or iwi organisations, particularly in long-term planning and consultation operational delivery.Mo te tima | About the teamThe Regional Operations Group is responsible for delivering conservation work on the ground through our biodiversity, recreation/historic, community engagement and tiriti teams.The Eastern North Island Regions spans across four rohe inclusive of Tauranga Moana through to Rotorua, Eastern Bay of Plenty through the East Coast to Tairawhiti hosting a range of diverse ecosystems, communities and recreational experience across public conservation land from the mountains to the sea.
