Management (Community Services & Development) As one of two permanent Regional Managers, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful operational delivery of electoral events, including by-elections and referenda, across Aotearoa New Zealand. Following an electoral event, you will participate in the completion and reviews of the event, with a view to identifying, analysing and developing options for change. Ahead of the next event, you will work across the Commission to lay the foundations for the successful delivery of the next event, including budget and workforce planning. In relation to the delivery of an event, your responsibilities will span across recruitment, the development and implementation of operational plans, and the proactive identification and mitigation of operational and security risks.This is a Grade 19 role with a Salary band of $145,877-162,086Key Responsibilities:Contribute to the continuous improvement of electoral processes through the development and trialling of new systems and processes.Lead the operational delivery of electoral events, maintaining national standards, policies, and procedures.Recruit and develop a capable team of regional and electorate leaders.Work as part of the Voting Services team to design and coordinate future electoralevents.Develop and implement operational plans and staffing structures that align with national standards and objectives.Ensure the regional team delivers high-quality services to political parties, candidates, and voters.Work with the Te Pouwhirinaki Maori, (Manager Maori Electorates) to ensure voting services meet the needs of Maori communities.Mohou ake | About youYou are an experienced operational leader with proven experience in, and a passion for, managing electoral operations and events.You are a strategic thinker with the ability to design and implement systems that improve efficiency and outcomes. Your strong understanding of budget development and management to ensures that team can operate within their means while delivering to a high standard. You're known for your collaborative approach, working effectively with diverse people, and you have a solid understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, with a commitment to fostering participation from Maori communities.You excel at problem-solving, adapting to challenges, and proactively identifying risks, making you the go-to person for navigating operational complexities.
