This privately owned, long established and well-resourced company has a substantial large rental equipment fleet and branch network throughout New Zealand.As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for taking a strategic approach to maximising turnover and converting prospects into customers, whilst maintaining the strong relationships with our existing client base. You will attract new customers while driving revenue by selling hire solutions and managing the regional team to deliver exceptional service to our clients.The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and experienced sales leader with some operational experience, ideally in the equipment rental or civil construction-related sectors. Demonstrable success in strategic revenue growth will be essential.Some of your key responsibilities will include:Adopting a strategic perspective for the region to retain and grow our market shareKey account managementCalling on existing customers and bringing new customers on boardManaging the team of Hire Controllers and ensuring the branches are effectively staffed and structured to meet customer needsSupporting the Hire team in ensuring all branch data and systems are accurate and up to date for reporting and invoicing purposesFostering strong working relationships with the other Porter Group divisions including Porter Mechanical, Porter Haulage and Porter AccessBuilding and promoting a Health & Safety focused cultureIdeally you will be based in the Cromwell area, but for the right candidate we will consider Dunedin as a base.
