This position plays a senior role in the Youth Engagement, Education, and Enviroschools team (YEEET) working with and mentoring other team members to deliver Enviroschools facilitation.
The Regional Coordinator is responsible for ensuring consistent, quality coordination of the Enviroschools programme across Canterbury.
You'll support the team to work with early childhood centres and schools that commit to a long-term sustainability journey, enabling tamariki/students to connect with and explore the environment.

Develop a plan to deliver and grow Enviroschools participation across Waitaha that is consistent with the Council's strategic direction and the core services we deliver.
Mentor and support Youth Engagement, Education, and Enviroschools advisors in the delivery of their work.
Build, manage and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including funding partners, and report on outcomes.
Facilitate the programme in targeted schools, organising reflection processes.
Design professional development opportunities for participating schools.
With a passion for the environment and sustainability, you'll have a tertiary degree in either education, ecology, environmental science or education.
You'll have a strong background in education, ideally primary or secondary trained with an idea of curriculum delivery and how to build effective relationships with schools and teachers.
Confidence and competence in working with Maori communities alongside understanding equity is an important skill set for ensuring that our programmes can reach all communities in Canterbury.
To enjoy this role you'll have:
Diploma in Teaching an advantage.
Knowledge of Environmental Education for Sustainability (EEFS) and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Ability to indirectly manage and influence people.
Ability to plan strategically, evaluate outcomes, manage a budget.
You'll have a class 1 drivers licence.
