Regional Children and Families Pastor – Anglican Diocese of WaiapuWe have an exciting opportunity for a Children and Families Pastor to join the ministry team of our long-standing and deeply rooted church community in Napier.
We are seeking a person with a deep love of the church and a real sense of call to see the gift, beauty and blessing the church holds handed on to another generation.We are seeking to appoint a Children and Families Pastor/s, who will have responsibility for implementing the Koru Ministry strategic development plan for the Southern Waiapu region (Hawkes Bay), and for calling and developing volunteer teams in the churches and congregations of the Waiapu region.
A second role will focus on developing and resourcing ministries, equipping teams and leading children and their families in faith development specifically at the Taradale parish.To help pastor our community you will need to be sympathetic to Anglican theology and our ethos of via media, open to the work of the Holy Spirit, have the heart of a planter, and be a team player.

Alongside your deep commitment to the life of the church and the building up of God's people, we will also commit to being a church that builds you up.Our preferred applicant will have:experience in paid or voluntary ministry to children and families within a Christian church or network,experience working with children and with teaching and resourcing,formal training in Children and Families ministry, theology, or Christian leadership,an ability to embrace and work within our three Tikanga church context.Skills and abilities of our preferred applicant will be someone who has:a love for Families and can get alongside to lead and inspire by building relationships and trust,sensitivity and respect towards cultural difference and family makeup,confidence, energy and a warm personality,self-motivation and great interpersonal skills to motivate others,an ability to speak with and teach across generations,great organisational skills to manage a range of events,demonstrated leadership abilities and experience of team leadership and delegation.There are two roles available, both based in Taradale, Napier:Southern Regional Children and Families Pastor 24 hours per week, fixed term for 3 years,Children and Families Pastor 16 hours per week, fixed term for 3 years.If this sounds like you, and you are interested in one or both roles, we would love to hear from you.
