Job Description
AFFCO Horotiu is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer/Service Technician for their Plant located near Hamilton. In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day running and monitoring of all refrigeration and cooling appliances and related devices, as well as hot water generation and water quality based on site and researching and investigating continuous improvement opportunities.
As the Refrigeration Engineer/Service Technician, your key tasks involve:

Daily monitoring of electric heat pumps, Co2 and ammonia refrigeration plant, routine freezer defrosting and management of and testing of water treatment, including Super Chlorination.
Ensure routine preventative maintenance and annual servicing is carried out as required.
Ensure all fittings, electrical and seals are in line with business needs and performing at acceptable levels.
Management of any breakdowns and repair faults in a timely and efficient manner.
Routine testing, adjusting and balancing of systems and processes to ensure efficiency.
Management of heat recovery and hot water generation for the site.
Promoting and complying with Health & Safety practices for themselves and those around them.
Organise and coordinate refrigeration contractors to carry out annual overhauls & projects.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have appropriate qualification/s and experience in Refrigeration Engineering, as well as the following:

Experience in running a significantly sized cool store.
Superior problem-solving skills.
Exposure to servicing a large manufacturing plant.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of priorities and demands.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
A strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards.
Availability for rostered, rotating shifts and on-call availability.
