The Sport and Recreation team is responsible for delivering world-class recreation, sport, and play outcomes for the Selwyn District's residents and visitors. Whether it's operating the Selwyn Sports Centre, Selwyn Aquatic Centre, or delivering active recreation programmes and events to the public, the Sport and Recreation team aims to keep everyone engaged in their physical and mental wellbeing journey.About the roleBased at the modern Sports Centre facility in Rolleston, this is a 40 hour per week role, working Sunday to Thursday with varied start and finish times.As a Recreation Coordinator you will:Assist Senior Recreation Co-ordinators in the delivery of promotional activities to increase participation in recreation programmes and events delivered by the Sport and Recreation team.Support Facility Management to receive and respond in a timely and professional way to all enquiries, complaints, and issues, which may relate to facility bookings, events and/or programmes as and when required.Ensure all bookings are managed correctly using Council systems.Co-ordinate user group and hirer requirements and expectations in accordance with Selwyn Sports Centre operational policies and procedures (e.g., setting up and packing down activity equipment).About youDelivering exceptional service to our users, you will ensure all customer enquiries and bookings are managed effectively as you coordinate the day-to-day activities associated with sport, recreation, and fitness programmes.Maintaining a safe environment for all of our customers, you will be actively involved in the successful set up, pack down, and delivery of programmes.Passionate about sport and recreation, you will be motivated to ensure our new facility meets the needs of our growing community.You'll have previous experience participating in sport and recreation activities or events with an understanding of event and programme planning in addition to facility operations.An effective communicator, you are comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people and enjoy building and maintaining positive relationships.Above all, you are proactive, positive, and keen to learn.What we can offerFor several years Selwyn has been experiencing rapid and sustained economic and population growth.
