Recovery Facilitator (Mental Health Support Worker)Who we are | Ko wai matou. Mental Health NZ is part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing division of Healthcare NZ. Our vision is to enhance the wellbeing of all New Zealanders through supporting tangata whaiora in determining and realising their goals and aspirations. We deliver this vision through our commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi by ensuring equitable outcomes for Maori.
We do this by partnering directly with people, their whanau and wider support networks to provide high quality, evidence-based wellbeing supports that build on people's existing strengths and resources.
The role of the Recovery Facilitator (RF) is to support tangata whaiora to achieve their goals and aspirations by using a holistic, strengths-based approach through developing a collaborative and respectful relationship. A Recovery Facilitator will manage a caseload of people and work with whaiora to encourage improvement of their health, self and personal cares and foster independence so they can thrive.
Recovery Facilitators work with Te Whatu Ora clinical teams, primary care, government organisations, community housing and support services, drug and alcohol services and health providers, to offer person and whanau centric services. Recovery Facilitators work alongside whaiora to support and maintain all aspects of wellness.
There are full-time roles available in our 24-hour rostered Residential Service, so will include weekends and shift work.
Minimum RequirementsNational Certificate in Mental Health Support Work (level 4) or equivalent (or willingness to undertake within first year of employment)Experience working with people with mental health and addictions issues.Team player with the ability to work autonomously.Attention to detail with excellent documentation skills.Ability to keep clear boundaries.Full NZ driver's license and clean Police check.At Mental Health NZ, we are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity, reflecting the communities we serve.
