We are now seeking a full-time permanent Recovery Capital Lead & Peer Navigator to join our Organisational Development and Support team at Odyssey.
This role is primarily responsible for supporting the ongoing development and integration of a culturally responsive, peer-focused, and strengths-based recovery capital model within Odyssey's services.
A key responsibility related to this position will also be the establishment and maintenance of relationships with community-based services and the identification of resources that will support the reintegration of tangata whai ora into the community.
As a part of this role, you will also provide practical support and walk alongside tangata whai ora, whanau, and Odyssey kaimahi (employees), using a social recovery approach and tools.
Our ideal candidate will have:2-3 years' relevant work experience, including experience of working in a social services, addictions and/or mental health care setting.One year's relevant experience using recovery capital approaches in practice.Lived experience of alcohol or other drug and/or of mental health challenges.Knowledge of peer community resources and support networks.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.Ability to work effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds, recognising their individual needs.In return we offer:A salary between $75,940 and $83,865 depending on skills and experience.An allocated petrol allowance.Monday to Friday – no weekends!22 days annual leave and 5 days paid study leave per annum.Professional and career development opportunities.A dynamic and supportive team who are passionate about what they do.More about us:Odyssey has supported thousands of New Zealanders whose lives are affected by alcohol, drug or other addiction challenges.
