Metrotel New PlymouthReceptionistIn this role, you will be the main point of contact for our in-house and future customers. You will be checking people in and making sure the daily operation is running smoothly. You will be trained using our systems so you can take phone bookings, reply to emails, send invoices, and follow up with any guest inquiries. Guest issues will arise, and you will be the first person to hear about it. It is your responsibility to find solutions that satisfy the guest while also maintaining positive commercial and reputational outcomes for the business. This job also involves resolving similar queries for our other branches in different locations.You will monitor the fire alarm and may act as a building warden in the event of a fire.Due to the small scale of the hotel, the office/admin tasks only require a minimal amount of time. This is a hands-on position that will involve many tasks around the property, rather than desk work. In morning shifts, you will assist with housekeeping while monitoring the reception phone and doorbell. This involves cleaning, making beds, setting amenities, and other tasks involved with getting the rooms ready for the next guests and servicing rooms for stayovers. You will assist with managing the housekeeping team's tasks and workflows.Laundry tasks are on-going and involve washing, drying, and folding towels and other linen. You are expected to show a high level of initiative in assisting the manager with ongoing maintenance and cleaning of the overall property.
