Job summary A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and highly motivated Reception Manager to join the team at Eltham Palace Surgery.The successful candidate will be motivated, committed, and forward-thinking with experience working within a GP Practice.Hours: hours per week (Monday to Friday) Main duties of the job To be responsible for the efficient management and direction of the administration team, ensuring all administrative duties are performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectives of the practice.To support the management team in promoting ED&I, SHEF, quality and continuous improvement, confidentiality, collaborative working, service delivery, learning and development, and to carry out other duties as directed by the management team.

There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.The Administration/Office/Reception Manager is responsible for:a.
Overseeing the administration and support operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilitiesb.
Line managing all administrative staff, supporting staff development, providing guidance and direction, ensuring staff are up to date with mandatory trainingc.
Completing staff appraisals as requiredd.
Identifying and delivering team training where requirede.
Compiling administration staff rotasf.
Reviewing and updating all administrative and reception policies and procedures as requiredg.
Supporting the management team in the compilation of practice reports and the practice development planh.
Developing, implementing and embedding efficient office processes and procedures to adhere to extant legislationi.
Acting as a focal point for the practice managing requests from external organisations such as the local police, solicitors, DVLA and other agenciesj.
Coordinating the provision of temporary administrative and reception staff, ensuring sufficient cover is provided for periods of leave and other staff absencesk.
Coordinating the home visits.l.
Updating the appointment system to reflect leave and other approved absencesm.
Providing initial guidance and advice to patients who wish to verbally complainn.
Managing all deliveries to the practice, ensuring adherence to the cold chain policy as necessaryo.
