Reader/Writer/Typist

Fixed-Term (September – December 2024)
5 hours per week
Based in New Plymouth

Mo tenei turanga mahi | About this position
As a Reader/Writer/Typist you'll work with an akonga (student) in their home based in New Plymouth. You'll play a vital part of a professional team who work together to provide our akonga with support in relation to their individualised learning programme.
This position is during school term time only. To be considered for this role you must have the right to reside or work in New Zealand.

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 akonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners.

Ko koe tenei | About you
Your excellent communication and relationship management skills will see you foster strong relationships with our akonga, their whanau and the Te Kura kaiako and the teams working with our akonga on their individualised learning journey.
We are looking for someone who is keen to bring their energy to engage with our akonga to support their learning needs.
You'll be someone who is supportive, well-organised, and flexible. Knowing your way around a computer is beneficial.
For this position, we offer a starting hourly rate range from $26.59 to $33.23. The final rate will be determined based on the akonga's learning needs and the candidate's unique combination of experience and skills.
