Consultant Haematologist - Full time position – Haematology Department We are a dynamic and progressive organisation at the forefront of innovative health delivery, serving south and east Auckland - New Zealand's most culturally diverse population. The Hospital serves a population of approximately 560,000, providing vital services across all major specialties. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Haematologist to join our existing team of 7 haematologists. As a consultant haematologist, you will be providing a full diagnostic service and treatment for patients with haematological diseases in the region. The department has an in-patient ward, chemotherapy day ward, outpatient clinics, thrombosis service, and haematology laboratory and blood bank services all located on-site. We also run an active clinical research programme in conjunction with Aotearoa Clinical Trials, and opportunities will exist within this role to further develop your own research skills and experience. You will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with an established team of nursing, allied health, and scientific staff to ensure that patients receive optimal care. There is a strong focus on research and quality improvement, as well as the training of junior medical and nursing staff. We are home to New Zealand's most diverse population, so there is plenty of opportunity to deal with complex and challenging clinical issues. The position is a full-time role from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. There is an additional on-call roster with an expected call frequency of 1:6.
