* Your opportunity to contribute to conservation outcomes, focused on statutory processing for the Central Otago District, collaborate with iwi and external groups on conservation projects.
* The salary range for this position is $60,314 to $75,603.
* Permanent, full-time role based in Wanaka or Alexandra, with flexible working options.
While this role is currently based at Wanaka or Alexandra, the main district office is expected to relocate to Cromwell, and this role may be based there in the future.

He angitutanga | About the role This role focuses on the statutory elements of community work and include a range of work to support the delivery of conservation outcomes.
You will engage with iwi/ hapu/ whanau, build volunteer opportunities, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with businesses, trusts, councils, and community groups.
The position will be focussed on: * processing permit and concession applications * monitoring commercial or private activity on public conservation land, including maintaining up-to-date database information * providing high quality input on Resource Management Act planning processes * coordinating the Department's input into resource consent applications and consent monitoring where these affects natural, historic and/or recreational resources * provide field support for statutory land management functions * provide administrative, liaison and advocacy support to projects that seek to achieve more conservation through greater involvement of iwi, business, and the wider community.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you: * highly organised with excellent communication skills and drive * proactive critical thinker with the ability to make decisions and prioritise work * ability to juggle multiple work streams at any given time * passion for conservation and conservation values * valid full drivers' licence * happy getting out of the office to engage with external stakeholders, participate in meetings and undertake site visits.
Desirable * knowledge of the Central Otago area * experience working with and partnering with iwi, statutory authorities, community groups, and business groups * experience within the regulatory space.

The salary range for this position is $60,314 to $75,603 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
