Te Papa Atawhai Department of Conservation's Morere Hot Springs team is looking for the next valuable member! A casual part-time position for front of house/kiosk work has become available and we can't wait to welcome you.
As Ranger - Morere Hot Springs (Casual) you will join our team as an all-rounder. You will be able to jump into one of two roles as required on the day, either as our Kiosk Officer or our Maintenance, Grounds and Cleaner. These roles operate on-call, with variable hours, as required to assist with sickness and leave cover of our full-time staff. Therefore, flexibility, ongoing availability and timely response is needed. This is a casual position; you must be able to work Public Holidays.
As Kiosk Officer, your responsibilities include:
assisting and advising customers about the facility services and promotions, processing payments, balancing the till at end of shift
conducting sales, monitoring stock levels, restocking and reordering, receiving deliveries
maintaining and cleaning the kiosk, pools, gardens buildings, reporting maintenance issues to leadership, cleaning and maintaining towels and other linens for customers
managing administrative tasks
ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
As Maintenance, Grounds and Cleaner, your responsibilities include:
pool cleaning and pool area maintenance: daily acid wash of the emptied pools, cleaning pool decks and surrounding areas, monitoring and maintaining pool chemicals and hygiene
cleaning and facility upkeep: sweeping/vacuuming and mopping floors, restrooms, changing rooms and shower facilities, dusting and wiping surfaces, windows and glass doors, maintaining common areas
stocking supplies: ensuring restroom supplies are stocked regularly, cleaning supply restocking
track and amenities maintenance, including fencing and infrastructure fixes
weed and pest control
ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, reporting maintenance issues to leadership.

If you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you:
You will have a friendly and sincere attitude, punctual work ethic and be capable of working independently but also able to fit in well and work alongside a team.
You will be able to follow instructions, with a high level of attention to detail and strong focus on safety.
Great customer service, versatility, flexibility, ability to troubleshoot/problem solve, pride in your work and a willing attitude is a must.
Experience in working with an EFTPOS point of sale or in a retail environment is a plus.
You will have experience working in a pool facility and maintaining grounds, infrastructure and light machinery to a professional level.
The role will comprise physically taxing work, such as heavy lifting, so a good level of health and fitness is essential.
Relevant Grow Safe, Chainsaw, Scrub Bar, Pool Operator and First Aid qualifications.

The salary range for this position is $58,816 - $66,578 pro-rata with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
