Casual position Casual position covering staff leave and periods of peak service demand Busy, varied role assisting in our radiology department at Nelson Hospital Requires good time keeping to ensure efficient patient flow Nga mohiohio e pa ana ki tenei mahi (About this position) This role involves assisting the Radiology staff with the smooth running and day-to-day duties within the radiology department including: care and supervision of patients, transferring patients, linen restocking, general administrative tasks, and equipment cleaning duties.
The main aspect of this role is ensuring Inpatients are transferred to radiology in a timely manner to ensure a smooth workflow and no downtime in Radiology.
This is a busy and active role and requires the pushing of beds and wheelchairs.
As this is a casual position we cannot guarantee minimum hours of work, as you will be working on an as-required basis.
Some forward planning and scheduling will be available when covering annual leave, but it will be important that you have the flexibility to also cover shifts at short notice.
Our shifts are rostered across Monday to Sunday between the hours of 0800-2300 hours.

You will ideally have a working knowledge of the radiology department and/or the hospital environment, along with great interpersonal skills, loads of initiative, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
You will need to be fit and healthy in order to perform the role and you must be patient-focused.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
