This is an exciting opportunity to apply for a permanent position in a stunning area of New Zealand with a Mediterranean climate and culture.
Our local health sector is undergoing innovative expansion and modification with new public and private imaging facilities under construction. As an employee of Te Whatu Ora, the New Zealand national public health system, you will be part of a collaborative collegial team of up to eleven providing high quality care, improving equity and health outcomes for our local population, with a high Maori and Pasifika population. The team is part of the regional training programme with currently one registrar.
There are many opportunities to develop subspecialist interests that will complement the department's current service, with high levels of unmet need in our community. We also have close regional ties with other imaging departments, other specialities that we interact with, as well as regional and tertiary services to provide a comprehensive package of care.
Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is situated in Hastings, New Zealand, a region of over 162,000 people. The hospital supports a wide range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services. As a Radiologist you will be supporting these services through regular MDTs as well as your day to day work delivering high quality care, ongoing quality improvement, developing new services through innovation and teaching.
It is anticipated that, once settled, you may also want to work in the private sector. This will be supported.
Remuneration will consist of:
· Qualification and experience step alignment with the ASMS MECA
· On-call allowances
· Employer matched Superannuation contributions of up to 6% of annual earnings
· Relocation package including removal costs, flights, accommodation, and car hire*
· Reimbursement of:
o Medical Defence Assurance fees
o College Membership Fees
o Study and conference leave*
· $1,000,000 Life/disability cover whilst travelling on company business as per company policy*

Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist and ideally a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology, or equivalent (such as FRCR).
