Mount Campbell Communications – Annesbrook, South IslandThis position is for a radio technician/engineer with experience in mobile radio. This is a key technical position within our company.You will likely have a tertiary qualification and at least 10 years of relevant experience.About Mount Campbell:The Mount Campbell companies operate in the mobile radio industry with sales, service, and radio network. We are particularly strong in the Tait and Hytera brands. We own and operate a radio network across the top of the South Island. Our team is nimble, decisions are made quickly, and we are action-oriented.About the role:Initially, the work will comprise programming and configuring mobile radios, bench service work, radio network implementation, frequency planning and design, configuring radio network equipment. Site work is required for new installations, upgrades, and repairs and maintenance. A strong understanding of TCP/IP networking as well as configuring DMR Tier III and Tier II networks and mobile radio is required.A solid theoretical understanding of RF systems including system-level RF analysis and link budget analysis.A solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and addressing.In addition:Highest regard for the health and safety of everyone on site and the public.Excellent communication skills both written and oral and the ability to build strong working relationships.Strong logic in fault finding and problem-solving ability.Ideally have a Current First Aid certificate.Enthusiastic 'can do' attitude with a strong work ethic.Be healthy and physically fit.Programming and Configuration Customer Equipment:With the increasingly sophisticated deployment and utilization of mobile radio plant (for example, Tait Axiom), the job entails developing a complete understanding of the software features of mobile radio plant and deploying these for clients. Although not essential, it would be an advantage to have skills in Node Red, Node.js, and MQTT brokerage.Systems engineering can be broadly divided into: RF passive components, radio and baseband plant, TCP/IP networking plant, and power supply plant. A strong understanding of the four segments is required.Facilitate systems engineering processes associated with Mount Campbell's radio networks and systems, including requirements definition, system design, verification and validation, and associated documentation products, particularly in regard to DMR Tier III and DMR Tier II radio networks and intersite radio linking with TCP/IP.Our network devices are monitored with PRTG, and experience in this would be an advantage.Conduct research for prospective network components.Lead the engineering change process associated with the deployment of new systems and bringing new systems/components into operational use.Radio frequency licensing compliance and interference resolution are required.You will develop and maintain an understanding of the RF regulatory environment both licensed and GURL.Support discussions with regulatory agencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
