Our success is due to our awesome customer service, first-class facilities, majestic scenery, and wild terrain.Coronet Peak is the home of ski racing in New Zealand, and the race crew works hard to deliver a wide range of quality ski and snowboard events across the season. The Race Crew is a team of 10 consisting of a Head of Department, a Race Administrator, two Team Leaders, and 6 Race Crew Staff. The event season begins at the beginning of July and carries steadily through to the end of September. You can expect to prepare and execute our fun local community events all the way up to high-level international races including Continental Cup level events for FIS. Your role as crew changes day to day and depends heavily on the upcoming schedule. The role is greatly influenced by weather and snow conditions, which makes for early mornings and some late nights.Our prime candidates would be those thrifty problem solvers keen to be a part of a tight-knit team and not afraid to put in the work. We are looking for flexible people who can change as quickly as the weather and adapt to ensure our events and programs are delivered to the best of our ability. Having experience managing staff and coordinating on-hill protocols would be a massive advantage. If you have a passion for snow and sport, are always keen to get out on the slopes no matter what the weather, and are interested in the running and setup of on-snow events, we look forward to hearing from you.About the roleCoordinating daily tasks of race staff to maximize efficiency throughout the workdayContinually look for ways to add value to the ski area with the implementation of fun events for guests to participateMaintaining gear that needs repairAssisting in creating venues from start areas all the way to finish arenas, and beyondSetting and preparing all safety for the mountain environment in the form of permanent and temporary safety and protection systemsStaging and transport of equipment on and around the hillCoordinating venue movements of staff and equipmentSetting up racecourses in accordance with F.I.S ICR and NZCRThe hill is closed to the public and managed for athlete safetyWhen the race starts, crew is actively monitoring the course. You must be extremely aware of racers on course and any hazards developing.
