Your People is on the hunt for a QUANTITY SURVEYOR to join a mid-tier Construction Company in Dunedin. We are searching for a QS with strong experience of working with a Main Contractor. Preferably the successful candidate will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
The role: You will be joining a progressive, well-respected company with an excellent reputation for quality and safety. This company is proud of its history and its portfolio which includes a wide range of significant, large-scale, complex commercial projects.
Key responsibilities: Initial budgets and feasibility of projects Measuring and estimating (take-offs from drawings and specs) estimating preliminary and general costs (P&G) Preparing Main Contractor tender packages and calling for tenders for sub trades Evaluating tenders and risk assessment of sub trades contractors Cost management of projects and reporting against budgets and forecasts - managing variations and progress claims Relationship and Project Management including client reporting Use of industry-specific software and technology Leadership and Advisory role including Quality and Health and Safety aspects You: Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a commercial Main Contractor environment Accurate measurement skills and proficient estimating skills Well-developed budgeting and forecasting skills Strong communication skills – written and oral Competent with MS Excel and industry-specific software and technology Collaborative, professional and focussed team member - contributing for the company's growth and success Meets all deadlines On offer is a competitive salary package, ongoing professional development, and a supportive work environment that values innovation and collaboration. Range $90,000-110,000 per annum
