We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our high-performing project team working on the University of Otago Medical School project, based in the Christchurch CBD. Our ideal candidate will have a solid background working for a main contractor in commercial construction, be comfortable working on large fast-paced projects, have a strong eye for detail and be a proactive team player. We are driven by our core values, and we aim to produce work that not only makes our clients proud but also meets our exceptionally high standards.
As Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for:
Work closely with other members of the QS team to manage financial performance, cash flow and construction project changes
Assisting with preparing and finalising tender submissions
Building and maintaining professional and reciprocal relationships with clients, sub-contractors, consultants and key stakeholders
In conjunction with the QS team control and manage the project profit margins and maintaining positive cash flows
Produce supporting documentation and accurate reporting around project financial performances
Skills and experience required:
Minimum 5 + years relevant industry experience in quantity surveying
Recognised and relevant professional QS qualification
Proven problem solving ability and good decision making skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Previous commercial construction experience is desirable
Ability to build good rapport and relationships
