This successful Canterbury owned and operated thriving construction business is needing a competent Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Their vision since the business was established was to deliver high quality, turnkey projects, completed on time and to the client's satisfaction. Their team's extensive and varied experience in Senior Construction Management enables them to deliver a range of professional services including building construction and design and construct projects.
Your new role
Due to the company's current project demands and healthy projects confirmed, the need for a Quantity Surveyor is required and would be an asset to come and join this successful business.
This is an end-to-end Quantity Surveying role where you will be working closely with the Director and management team to assist with the full project life cycle from pre-tender estimating through to tender, project execution, and final account.
Responsibilities include: Assist with the preparation of design and feasibility reports Contract documents, budgets, estimates, and subcontractor quotations Procurement of subcontractors and agreements Assess payment claims and variations Measure, estimate, and value variation claims Compile and submission of variation claims Monthly cost reporting and accurate cost forecasting You will have strong commercial acumen, experience with contractual negotiations with subcontractor packages, and the ability to maintain relationships with key stakeholders, which are vital in this role.
What you need to succeed Degree qualified in Construction Management/Quantity Surveyor or equivalent Experience with NZ commercial construction projects Relationships with subcontractors in Canterbury Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills What you get in return
