Cake Commercial Services are a leading protective coatings applicator who specialise in providing protective coatings for concrete and steel as well as Passive Fire Protection (intumescent and penetrations).
We have numerous clients throughout New Zealand and pride ourselves on being a forward thinking and innovative company.
Due to a continued, demanding and varied workload, our business is looking for a qualified Quantity Surveyor to undertake the following duties.
Purpose of the role As a traditional Quantity Surveyor, you will need to have experience in both pre & post contract tasks.
One of the primary purposes of this role is to interpolate 2D and CAD construction drawings to produce accurate materials quantity take-offs to produce Tender pricing.
You will also be required to collate progress measures and claims, invoicing, and analysis of payments received.
Key Accountabilities Work closely with the admin team to ensure accurate cost reporting and financial performance of projects Assist Project Managers with collation and negotiation of variations Prepare and review Final accounts Produce detailed and accurate quantum take-offs from 2D or CAD construction drawings and collate pricing for numerous large-scale projects Work proactively and effectively with the internal management team to ensure materials take-offs and quotes are produced within the agreed timeframes Assist with producing progress claims and issuing invoicing on a monthly basis Technical Skills Tertiary QS qualification with some practical experience or background in a QS/estimator role over a minimum period of 5 years Good computer skills essential Strong analytical skills and attention to detail CAD, CostX or BIM experience would be beneficial but not a pre-requisite Attitudinal Skills Proven team player An ability to learn A desire to buy into a very strong internal culture Planning and organisational skills Ability to multitask So, if you think you fit the bill, are up for the challenge, have a clean full driver's licence, hold NZ residency or a valid work visa and are drug and alcohol free then please apply now.
