My client is seeking a motivated QS to join their construction team. If you love being busy, have the ability to juggle multiple tasks, are friendly, approachable, and can get things done then read on.
As our QS you will be a senior member of the team responsible for helping manage multiple projects and no day will be the same. This is a jack of all trades/wearer of many hats type role requiring the ability to juggle priorities, so we are looking for someone who isn't afraid to get stuck in and offer aid and support where and when it's needed! As the business is growing and the projects are growing too, we are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term future in a friendly, productive, and supportive team.
THE ROLE Review drawings and engineers' building plans.
Prepare a schedule of quantities used in the tendering process (measuring and estimating material and labour costs - BoQ).
Identifying gaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications, and conditions of the contract.
Prepare reports before and during building projects showing costs.
Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Visit client sites to monitor progress (VO's, claims and Profit and Loss, site timelines).
Aid in resolving disputes between contracted parties.
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and achieve value for money.
Mentorship for any juniors that will come into the business at a later date.

It is essential you have the confidence and drive to work to deadlines and deliver excellence consistently.
Self-motivated and can work autonomously.
Experience working in the civil/construction sector - MUST HAVE at least 3 yrs NZ WORK experience as a QS .
Excellent communication and time management skills – written and verbal.

Auckland Locations – Office is North West Auckland but you will be required on site during the week (sites are Auckland based).
Salary - $140-$160K a year DoE.
