Extrastaff are currently working with nationally recognised Construction Contractors across the country, all of whom are growing and seeking Quantity Surveyors to bolster their already well-established teams.
About the role: Our clients are busy commercial and residential contractors with a significant pipeline of work for the rest of the year and extending into 2025.
We work with large blue-chip clients as well as boutique builders that are looking for a true culture fit.
We are open to Quantity Surveyors that are at the start of their career looking for a new challenge, as well as intermediate QSs that want a move.
You'll be conducting site visits to measure and provide quotes for a mixture of commercial and residential projects.
You'll be doing take-offs and pricing off-plan.
The role will require continual communication with clients and internal staff, including PMs, Construction Managers, and Directors.
You'll be working with site teams as well as backend, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget.
Depending on the client, you may be using an assortment of software platforms and technology.
About you: Experience in a similar role is a must, with NZ exposure Able to read plans, technical drawings, and complete take offs with ease Residential and commercial experience, with tendering and pricing Must be accurate, organised, and efficient with proven experience Worked on New Zealand projects with a portfolio that reflects your skillset Problem solving ability and a 'no worries' initiative Must be cool as a cucumber and calm under pressure NZ Construction knowledge, and understanding of NZ Building Code & HSWA 2015 Understand the importance of OH&S and adhere to strict safety on site What you will get: Generous remuneration, well in line with market conditions Permanent, full-time position with stability and a stack of projects - this is NOT a contract or short-term employment, but an ongoing career with our clients Work alongside high profile builders on career defining projects Supportive, growing team of seasoned professionals Ability to start immediately, though notice is of course fine too At Extrastaff, safety is paramount and as such the right candidate will have a strong commitment to OH&S, with the ability to work as part of a team to ensure everyone goes home safely.
