Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Civil ConstructionKidd Contracting | Listed 2 days agoListing DescriptionJob type: Full timeDuration: PermanentDescriptionProven experience in a QS role pricing civil construction works is preferred.A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying/ Estimating or a construction-related field (preferred, but not essential if proven experience is demonstrated).Strong attention to detail and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; all quoting schedules are constructed through Excel in combination with Earthworks Pro and Civil Cad.Practical and pragmatic with a solution-based approach, and the ability to work in a team.Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.Capable of building strong relationships both within the business and with clients and other parties.The day-to-day tasks and responsibilities include:Pricing (estimating) tenders, new jobs, variations, and all items relating to ongoing jobs/contracts. This includes:Tender administration, including liaising with the estimating team and management in relation to current tenders.Assisting with maintaining the current tender database.Downloading, printing, and saving tender documents/plans.Filing and organising documentation.Sending out tender documents to sub-contractors and liaising with them.Attending sites at the time of tender to assess site conditions.Attending sites to ascertain contract progress and variations, which may involve some site surveying/measurement.Contract administration during the course of projects.Liaising with project managers and site staff.Liaising with clients and clients' representatives in relation to tenders and ongoing jobs.Preparing payment claims and invoices, which may include project running costs and preparing plans/attachments and as-builts to substantiate claims and variations.You will be joining an established and supportive team that will encourage the development of your QS career in the civil construction industry.
