We are currently embarking on an exciting five-star hotel build that promises to redefine luxury accommodation.
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team and manage the budget effectively for this prestigious project and also assist with the Project Management for the delivery of the project.Key Responsibilities:Prepare project feasibilities.Explore and evaluate alternative design options and manage this against the project feasibility.
Agree project budget with relevant stakeholders.Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial control throughout the feasibility, design, and construction process.Conduct cost estimations and prepare detailed bills of quantities for all phases of the hotel build.Monitor project expenditures and provide regular financial reports to senior management.Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to assess project costs and feasibility.
Regular updates to design consultants on budget available for their respective design, estimates based on designs, and value engineering.Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for budget optimization.Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing, including offshore contract negotiation for bulk items directly procured and imported by Carter Group.Prepare all tender documents, evaluate bids from contractors, and issue tender recommendations.
Clarify all tender tags/qualifications and negotiate final costs.Compile procurement strategies and assist in the selection of materials and services.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS, RICS) is preferred but not mandatory.Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably with hotel or hospitality projects.Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and financial reporting.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a Quantity Surveyor?Do you have experience preparing and submitting tenders?How many years' experience do you have in the construction industry?How many years of project management experience do you have?To help fast track investigation, please include here any other relevant details that prompted you to report this job ad as fraudulent/misleading/discriminatory.
