We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantitative Analyst to join our Analytics and Insights team. This role is critical to maintaining and enhancing Treasury's capacity for data-driven policy analysis and providing data for our economic forecasts.
While based in the A&I team, you'll collaborate closely with our Forecasting team, offering you a unique chance to gain diverse experience and accelerate your career growth in public sector analytics.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Overseeing and improving the collection, analysis, and presentation of economic data.
Supporting evidence-based policy making across Treasury's strategic priorities.
Cross-team collaboration.

The specific experience, skills, and qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:

Graduate qualification in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
Strong programming skills, with proficiency in at least one of the following: R, Python, Eviews, SAS, or Stata.
Experience in quantitative modelling or data analysis.
Knowledge of or strong interest in economic data analysis.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear policy implications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement is desirable.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about economic concepts and policy frameworks relevant to the Treasury's work.
Experience in data collection and presentation.
