A very rare opportunity is opening up at Flora and Fauna Early Learning Centre in the new year! One of our fabulous kaiako is moving to the beach, so a full-time position has opened up at our boutique preschool.
Job Information:
Full-time 8.30am to 3.30pm, 5 days a week
3 x paid teacher-only days per year
Full Pay Parity
Closed for 2 weeks over Christmas
Involvement in our Ngahere Kura (forest schooling programme)
Free childcare (if applicable and when space becomes available), first aid and teachers' registration (after 1 year of service)
Very supportive, qualified kaiako owner/manager
Knowledgeable, hardworking, kind and supportive team
Professional development and PGC supported by management
Min 2 hours of paid non-contact weekly; non-contact can be completed in centre or from home
Low child to teacher ratios
Licensed for 24 tamariki 2 to 5 years

Someone who loves flora (plants) and fauna (animals, bugs, creatures)
A happy, energetic, knowledgeable qualified kaiako

Someone who has a 'get stuck in and give it a go' attitude
Someone who is happy to explore in all weathers
A kaiako who understands the importance of documenting children's learning, who reflects on their practice, who is always interested to learn more and share their knowledge with others
Someone who has a sense of humour and loves to have fun!
