WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience or relevant qualifications • Proven experience in house painting or plastering • Solid knowledge of painting techniques and painting materials • Can-do attitude and reliable • Attention to detail • Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.) • Physical strength, stamina and dexterity • Working unsupervised • Knowledge of all the applicable health and safety standards. • Be able to pass police vetting It is permanent employment based on assured 30 workings hours a week. Working location:Within Auckland WHAT DO YOU DO? • preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty andsanding them • reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments; calculating materials required fora job • erecting scaffolding and ladders; setting up ventilators and other safety equipment to protectpainters • selecting, mixing and applying painting materials • covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and otherprotective coverings • applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them • applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers orsprayers • cutting and hanging wallpaper, vinyl and backing paper • following safeguards, rules and regulations WHAT WE OFFER: • Competitive pay rate, consistent with your experience • Opportunities for career progression and up-skill in a multi-cultural team • Pay every 2 weeks and pay range $25 - $30 per hour Your job is essentially important as good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits.
