The Park is a beautifully designed, purpose-built early learning centre located on the old Athletic Park rugby ground in Newtown. We are inspired by a diverse array of educational philosophies, including RIE, Reggio, and Montessori. Our unique approach focuses on the core values of respect, aroha and collaboration, creating an inclusive environment where all tamariki and kaiako thrive.
We have an exciting opportunity for a toddler teacher to join our Explorers team! In our Explorers area, we support children aged 2-3-years-old in their individual journey of learning and discovery. In each room, we have 25 tamariki with 4 kaiako + a support teacher.
We focus on encouraging tamariki to develop their independence, as they begin to take responsibility for themselves, their belongings and their decisions and choices.
Our educators form trusting and respectful relationships with our Explorers tamariki. They also build close connections with parents and whanau, taking the time to share their daily interactions. The teachers' secure attachments allow children to build confidence to try new things and develop foundational skills and understanding.
We proudly offer our kaiako: Full Pay Parity (FPP)
Free on-site parking
Paid annual registration and first aid certification
Reduced childcare fees (50% discount)
Regular and relevant professional development opportunities
Purpose-built working environments with high-quality resources
A supportive management team
Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services for mental health and well-being support
Fantastic Staff Perks initiatives, including:
Birthday leave (a paid day off for your birthday)
Annual Wellness Allowance: $500 subsidy towards health and well-being expenses per year
Team social events.
Come and experience our outstanding learning environment firsthand. Learn more about The Park ELC and explore our centre on our website.
