About the role We are looking for Quality Assurance Technologist who is passionate about food. You might have a degree in Chemistry, Food Science or similar. Quality is paramount and you will be a positive thinker who is not afraid to make decisions or resolve issues. The role will be very hands on - you will be working closely with our Technical Manager, the sales and the quality teams. This role also has opportunities to be involved in quality-based projects, preparation of Spec's and PIF's, being involved in audits and improving systems. The business sources ingredients from all over the world, so this role will ensure raw material and finished product quality standards remain high. Day to day responsibilities include;  Sensory & analytical testing of productCoordination of micro and/or allergen testing for product samplesRelease of product to agreed specification.Shelf-life managementManagement of non-conformance & complaint investigations, including root cause analysisInternal auditsEvaluation of alternate materialsAdherence to provisions of GSH Food Safety Programme (BRCGS)Skills and Attributes You will: Have a BTech (Food Technology), BSc (Food Science) or similarBe confident, resilient and have excellent communication skills.Have high levels of attention to detail, problem solving ability and autonomy.Have strong interpersonal leadership skills to influence, develop and grow relationships with stakeholders, colleagues and team members.Possess well developed oral & written communication skillsShow excellent communication and people skillsDemonstrate strong problem solving abilitiesHave competent computer skillsYou have the opportunity to carve a successful career at one of the leading food businesses in NZ.
