This full time permanent role is based at our Wellingtonbranch located at William Durant Drive, Upper Hutt and reports to the InventoryManager. Thejob: Yourmain job responsibility is to manage our purchasing process efficiently. Thekey responsibilities include Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships withsuppliers, negotiate terms and ensure timely deliveries of qualityproducts. Cost Negotiation: Implement effective cost-saving strategies whilemaintaining the highest standards of product quality and service. Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, pricing andproduct availability to make informed purchasing decisions. Order Processing: Process purchase orders, track deliveries andcoordinate with various departments to ensure smooth procurementoperations. Quality Control: Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensurethat all purchased products meet the required standards. Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing andlead time Product allocation: Assist Manager to make decisions aroundsubstituting products if orders can't be fulfilled or if there is notenough product available and needs to be allocated Compliance: Ensure that all purchases comply with relevantregulations and standards. Theperson: Youwill have a qualification in procurement, supply chain or related industry.Proven experience in a procurement/purchasing role, especially in Foodindustry, is beneficial. Skillsand attributes required: Excellent reading, writing and communication skills Positive attitude, confidence and flexibility Aspiration and passion for high achievement Strong intuitive thinking skills, ability to think outside the box Knowledge of the food industry and supplier networks is a plus.
