Purchasing Officer

The Porter Group supplies world-leading Heavy Equipment brands through parts, sales, and rentals in four countries - New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Southern California. Porter Parts, a division of the Porter Group is looking for a Purchasing Officer who will be responsible for many aspects of maintaining stock levels across Porter Parts New Zealand and Australia along with managing daily urgent enquiries and orders. The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for a specific range of product lines and will be involved to the expansion or reduction of product lines, data integrity, and purchasing strategies. The ideal candidate will be competent in the below areas: • Enthusiastic and helpful attitude • Excellent time management skills with an ability to multitask • Strong attention to detail • Proficient literacy and communication • Good general computer literacy and experience • Self-motivated and driven to achieve top results • Thinks logically with excellent problem-solving skill • Able to adapt to an evolving role • Proficient with Microsoft office suite Previous experience in the below areas would be an advantage: • Planning and ordering of stock, including backorder management • International shipping and logistics • Experience with heavy construction equipment • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills Position: Purchasing Officer - Full time, Permanent Location: Porter Parts Hamilton Hours: 7.30am ~ 5.00pm, Monday to Friday Benefits: Medical insurance + KiwiSaver.
