The Purchasing Manager position is an on-site,permanent, full-time opportunity, based at Mitre 10 MEGA Albany. The successfulcandidate will work closely with our Chief Merchandise Officer, leading a teamof Purchasing Officers to ensure our stock levels meet business demands whilemanaging costs and maintaining quality. You will also play a crucial role indriving strategic alignment in purchasing practices across the business.About theroleAs Purchasing Manager, you will oversee all purchasing activities, ensuringthat our stock management aligns with promotional plans, seasonal trends, andbusiness objectives. You'll provide daily leadership and support to thepurchasing team, guiding them through challenges and resolving issues. Thisrole involves in-depth analysis of purchasing trends, forecasting, and thedevelopment of cost-effective procurement strategies. Additionally, you willcollaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure the smoothoperation of the supply chain.What willyou bring?3-5 years experience in asenior purchasing or procurement role.Proven track record in stock forecasting,purchasing analysis, and stock lifecycle management.Hands-on leadership experience, with theability to guide and support a team on a daily basis.Experience in promotional planning andstock management for events or campaigns.Strong numerical, analytical, andproblem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools.Familiarity with SAP systems and priorexperience using them would be a distinct advantage.Qualifications in procurement, supplychain management, or business are advantageous but not essential.Inaddition to the above, you will need:The ability to collaborate effectivelywith suppliers and internal teams.A strategic mindset, capable of aligningpurchasing practices with wider business goals.Excellent communication skills, with afocus on clear and concise delivery of information.Apply nowIf you meet the above requirements and are looking for an exciting opportunityto lead a purchasing team in a dynamic retail environment, we'd love to hearfrom you.
