ABOUT THE ROLE: Full time, 8 hours, Monday to Friday – Flexible start time from 7am-8.30am
Reporting to the Planning Manager, this role is crucial within the team responsible for ensuring that stock is available at the right time to meet production and sales demands. As the job title suggests, you will be responsible for purchasing components required for manufacturing goods for both domestic and export markets, as well as managing some (but not all) production schedules. Additionally, you will oversee stock levels in third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses. The variety of products and production schedules presents a significant challenge in this role, which includes the following key responsibilities:
Production planning and scheduling to meet forecasted demand
Purchasing components and managing spare parts inventory
Managing effective supplier contracts and inventory/cost down policy
Working closely with third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses
Maintaining inventory levels and ERP master data
Coordinating the import of products and parts through freight forwarders
Reporting and data analytics
TO SUCCEED YOU WILL NEED:
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory planning or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
A sound understanding of Shipping, Airfreight and "Safety Zone" management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft office suite
A detail-oriented mind with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency
Great project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a sprinkle of patience when interacting with overseas suppliers (different languages/different cultures)
A tertiary degree in supply chain management would be helpful but is not essential
