Te Whiwhinga mahi – The opportunity
Pumotomoto is a service for pepi and whanau in the first 2000 days of life (conception to 5 years). It is supported under the guidance of Te Oriori (an established service within Purapura Whetu Trust) and has been developed in response to the large body of research that highlights this period of life as the most critical for early brain development, impacting lifelong health, wellbeing, and social outcomes.
We are seeking a kaitautoko/support worker who wants to play an important and impactful role in supporting whanau and pepi in the First 2000 days of their lives.
Nga kawenga matua o te mahi – Key responsibilities of the role

Provide a range of free and accessible health and social services for Maori as a first priority to help achieve the vision of Purapura Whetu Trust throughout Otautahi.
Support tangata whaiora and their whanau in the wider community to plan, set, and achieve goals to increase overall wellbeing.
Support and advocate for whanau and pepi within primary and secondary health settings as outlined in our Kahu Taurima initiatives.
Depending on experience, there may be opportunities for involvement in group space activities in education for whanau in the areas of parent education both ante and postnatally.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures as they relate to the provision of Te Oriori and Pumotomoto services.
