Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Pukenga - Lecturer (Teaching) in Software Engineering to join Te Kura Matai Pukaha, Purorohiko - School of Engineering and Computer Science on a 4-year fixed-term, full-time contract. This position represents a chance to join and help shape a collaborative teaching and learning experience for Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington and Xiamen University students and staff.
All areas of software engineering are of interest, but applications are particularly welcome from candidates with extensive teaching experience in programming, cybersecurity, and computer science. It is expected that the appointee will contribute to teaching across three trimesters. You will be required and expected to teach in China for periods of up to 20 weeks at a time throughout the year and will be based in New Zealand at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington for the remainder.
Key responsibilities:
Provide high quality and critically reflective teaching practices.
Contribute to innovations in learning, teaching and assessment within the discipline, including demonstrating digital fluency.
Contribute to the review and re-design of programmes and courses.
Engage in regular professional development that leads to enhanced teaching practice and where relevant, inclusion of practitioner perspectives.
Engage effectively with industry, government, academics, professions, and diverse communities.
Contribute to the collegial development of the Programme, Academic Unit and Faculty through respectful and transparent interactions with colleagues.
Undertake job evaluations in accordance with the University's remuneration framework and job evaluation.

Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds.
