Public Health Analyst National Public Health Service Te Waipounamu Permanent opportunities available Join us as we change the future of public health in the South Island Mo te turanga About the role We are on the hunt for someone with an enthusiasm and a natural curiosity for public health analysis work. The positions available are : Permanent, full time (1FTE, 40 hours per week) Permanent, part time (0.5FTE, 20 hours per week) Research and analysis of public health information underpin this position, which will see you identify, gather, and assess information required to inform evidence-based planning and implementation of public health services in Te Waipounamu. Quality improvement is an important component of this role, as the analyst will play a key role in the evaluation of health initiatives conducted by the National Public Health Service. Mou ake About you You will be a good communicator, with the confidence to engage with a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation as well as colleagues from partner organisations In order to be successful in this position, you will also need to demonstrate the following : Ability to conduct literature searches and evaluate the quality of published work. Experience using qualitative or quantitative research / evaluation techniques, practices and principles. Experience in Microsoft suite is expected. Experience in using relevant analytical tools such as SQL, R or Python, R-Shiny, and PowerBI is useful. Understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way A background in public health, psychology, statistics, data management, data analytics or similar is desirable. As this is a South Island wide position, some travel may be required, therefore a full and current NZ Driver's License is required.
