We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced mental health clinician to join our North Taranaki Adult Community Mental Health team working with vulnerable adult whai ora and their whanau experiencing first episode psychosis.
Utilising a range of skills and modalities, the clinician will support the person and whanau to better understand their experience, identify signs and symptoms of psychosis, develop plans to manage symptoms and what may help to reduce or prevent relapse.We will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to:Undertake initial comprehensive assessments for whai ora referred to community mental health, particularly those with suspected psychosisUtilizing expertise to develop rapport and trust through engagement, education, advice, accessing community-based support services and negotiating treatment approachesWhen required respond to urgent needs or relapse episodes, navigating and supporting whai ora access crisis or acute response services and ensure plans are in place to exit acute response services.Contribute to developing service pathways for Psychosis Early Intervention.Mou - About youSuccessful candidates will have:Current registration with relevant registration board and annual practising certificate (Social Workers Registration Board, Nursing Council of NZ, etc).At least four years' experience in acute and/or community based mental health nursing, preferably with caseload management experience;Excellent clinical knowledge base and adept ability to provide psychoeducation for whai ora and whanau.Ability to work under pressure, be a good team player, demonstrate leadership skills and positively contribute to service delivery;Be prepared to travel across the Taranaki rohe to meet the needs of our people and have a willing, 'can do' attitude.We can offer you a welcoming and supportive environment with a team that is committed to ensuring you are successful in your role.
