Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand (Nelson Marlborough) formerly NMDHB 1.0 FTE / Fixed term 12 months 80 hours per fortnight Nelson location Nga mohiohio e pa ana ki tenei mahi (About this position) We have two fixed term, full-time intern psychology positions, working 40 hours per week. iCAMHS is a specialist mental health team, providing assessment and treatment for people up to age 18 with mental health problems which are moderate-severe. The role of the Intern Psychologist includes supervised and independent experience in assessment, diagnosis, formulation and use of a range of psychological therapies. iCAMHS has a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychology, nursing, social work, OT & psychiatry. The psychology team of 9 includes both senior and less experienced staff, and you will be well supervised. iCAMHS covers a wide area, including Nelson, Tasman, Golden Bay & Wairau. The Intern position is offered as part of MOH support for the Psychology workforce. The successful applicant will be offered a 1.0 FTE position for a full year, exact dates to be negotiated in accordance with course requirements. You will receive a salary according to the APEX Psychologists MECA Contract Intern Step 1 ($64,319 - $66,319). You will also be supported to continue the requirements of your course, including full-time pay to support study leave during the year. There will also be opportunities to attend extra specific training as they occur through the year e.g. Intro to Clinical Supervision, suicide prevention etc. Interns will have a supervising senior psychologist to monitor and support them as they put their academic learning into clinical practice. As well, there are peer, MDT and professional meetings for case discussion and consultation, and ongoing education on specific topics. Ko wai he kaitono totika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?) Applicants will be enrolled in a Clinical or Child & Family Psychology programme, and have completed the necessary pre-requisites to undertake their Intern year. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
