More importantly, this service was to be Kaupapa Maori, ensuring that the Maori population of Porirua and Greater Wellington had access to a Maori specific service.Our Goals:This programme is designed to support those suffering from primary mental health issues a way forward in their mental health journey. Learning the significance of tikanga, kawa, and how to live within these guidelines using these as a way of coping in an ever-changing world. Ultimately it is being the best that we can be within the environment we currently live in.Programme OverviewThe Psychologist is responsible for:Provide services relating to Mental Health and wellbeing ensuring positive outcomes are achieved.Use the skills of listening, observing, clarifying and offering options to enable client (whaiora) and/or whanau to maintain focus, explore options and consequences of decisions and make plans.Ensure Health and safety is at the forefront of thinking and within all relevant policy, laws and regulations.Ko nga wheako ou | About youYour high-level experience and professional expertise in Psychology is a given, and you will be excited to engage and learn alongside Ngati Toa.
