We are on the hunt for a Protection Technician. Reporting to the Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for providing testing and commissioning of substation assets with a strong focus on OH&S. You will have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a desire to work collectively as a team to complete works efficiently.
Other key deliverables are as follows: Fault finding, installation, testing, programming, maintenance, and repair of substation and electrical assets.Managing substation, transformers, and switch gear maintenance, repairs, and installations.Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment issues.Carry out relevant quality checks and audits. About you Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical certificate or licence.Minimum 5+ years industry experience in power assets.Hold registration (full, provisional, or limited) from the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) as an Electrician or Electrical Engineer.Practical industry-related experience is essential.Experience with HV, substation, or power transmission is desirable.Experience working on an electrical distribution network is highly desirable.Demonstrated experience in underground cable testing.Strong communication skills.Strong technical knowledge of industry standards and codes.About Ventia
